Dear Wolfpack:

Thanks for joining us for last week's PTSA/FoR meeting on Zoom. If you missed the meeting, here are the slides so you can see what we did.  A huge thank you to every family who has contributed to Friends of Reed's Annual Giving Drive!

This week's highlights:

  • Tomorrow, Monday at 5:00 at Camelia Elementary is our In Person North Hollywood/Valley Village Community of Schools Town Hall. This is a great opportunity to get questions answered in person.
  • Parent Workshop: Reed is hosting a workshop on Cyberbullying & Sexting on Wednesday, 9/21 at 8:30 in the Parent Center
  • Progress Reports come home on Friday

Have a great week,

Jenna Schwartz - PTSA President

Parisa Stepanek - Friends of Reed President

Annual Giving Campaign Starting Strong!
Thank you to the 50 families...

...who have already made a voluntary donation to Friends of Reed's Annual Giving Campaign!  We are at 40% of our goal to raise $50,000 dollars this year.  AG is the main fundraising drive to support capital improvements for Reed and benefit ALL students through a variety of programs. This year, FoR is raising money for the following:

  • Much-needed new classroom furniture for the A Building
  • The continued transformation of Schall Park and the garden area into usable outdoor learning areas
  • Grade levels will receive support for field trips and activities
  • Other ongoing classroom upgrades and campus beautification

Plus, we've got cool "Team Reed" Incentives--car magnets, travel pouches, water bottles, and more!

Our goal is 100% participation from all families at ANY level that works for your family, whether that's $10, $100, or $1,000!

Entries are due in November and will be judged at the local level. Winning entries will then move on to judging at the District level, and then possibly the State & National Level.  You do NOT have to be a PTSA member to participate.

Spotlight Opportunity:

Parent Academy Representatives

PTSA is actively seeking parents to represent and advocate for each academy at our shared monthly board meetings. We want each academy to have a voice and a seat at the table and would like 1-2 parents representing each of our academies.

Currently we are still looking for a representative for our Global Leadership Academy!

Academy parent rep duties would include attending one FoR/PTSA meeting/month (Wednesday evenings at 7pm) and helping to communicate and coordinate with your academy on one school-wide fundraising event or initiative, co-hosted by PTSA.

Complete this form if you are interested in learning more!

The Reed Staff Lounge is Maintained 100% Through Donations

Last year Reed parents spruced up the staff lounges, and our teachers & staff we are relying on donations to keep it going! If you are able, you can either purchase from our Amazon wish list below which gets sent directly to school, or feel free to purchase Keurig pods, coffee creamers, tissues, paper towels, individual snacks items, or earth friendly disposable coffee cups from wherever you shop and leave them in the main office with “Jenna Schwartz” written on the bag.
