8th GRADE PALI CAMP OVERNIGHT FIELD TRIP

Calling all 8th graders. We have a special trip for you to celebrate your last year at Reed.  Let's go to Pali Camp March 27-29, 2026.

Pali Camp is located in Running Springs, CA (near Big Bear). On Friday, March 27 (no school), a bus will depart from Walter Reed at tentatively 8:30am, arriving at Pali Camp at 11:00am. Camper will stay overnight Friday and Saturday nights, returning Sunday, March 29 to Walter Reed at around 1:00pm. (Confirmed schedules will be sent out closer to departure date.) Parent chaperones will be in attendance, but the camp is 100% run by camp counselors.

THIS IS A NON-SPONSORED FIELD TRIP, MEANING THAT THIS IS PARENT LED WITH THE SUPPORT OF FRIENDS OF REED. LAUSD AND WALTER REED ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE PARTIES.

Price: $530, which includes 2 nights/3 days at Pali, transportation to/from, meals, and activities. Pay in full, 2 installments, or apply for a scholarship. Scholarships are limited. Apply here.

Max: 100 students, so this will be on a first pay, first serve basis.

At Pali, campers have the chance to achieve their personal best while having the time of their lives and creating memories which last a lifetime.

ACCOMODATIONS

Campers live in group cabins of 10 campers and 2 counselors. Our cabins feature solid wood built-in twin-size bunks with real mattresses. Some of our cabins include a small sitting area. Private, residential -style bathroom and shower facilities are inside the cabins.  All cabins have fresh spring water for drinking. Radiant floor heating keeps cabins warm when it gets chilly.

DINING & NUTRITION 

Three delicious meals are prepared every day to fuel active campers and support full days of adventure. Meals are healthy, kid friendly, and prepared from scratch whenever possible. Every menu is thoughtfully designed to be well balanced, and all meals are prepared with strict recipe adherence to ensure food safety and reliability throughout the summer.

SAFETY

Registered nurses are on-site daily to care for the daily needs of our campers, and they are fully prepared for any emergency. Pali Mountain gate access requires a code or office approval to enter.
