About Walter Reed Middle School
Walter Reed Middle School provides engaging and challenging classes in an environment that fosters a strong sense of belonging for students, parents, teachers, and staff alike. Through our five academies, we offer the benefits of a personalized, small-school experience while maintaining the advantages of a comprehensive middle school, including a wide range of resources (such as our state-level award-winning music program, award-winning Cadet Corps, special education classes, garden, library, and media resources). Each academy provides honors-level courses for students ready to take on an accelerated pace. When students culminate from Reed, they do so with the skills and confidence to succeed at any high school of their choice.
Walter Reed Middle School Accolades
- Achieved an over 33-point combined increase in points on the SBAC for ELA, math, and science last year. The highest score growth of our 5-school network.
- Walter Reed Middle School is a California Distinguished School, which is the California Department of Education’s recognition of schools that demonstrate exemplary achievements.
- In 2023, Walter Reed Middle School was designated by the California Department of Education as a California Exemplary Arts Education Program School.
